Dr Manas Datta

Dr Manas Datta is a leading consultant paediatrician based in Chelmsford, Essex. Dr Datta has expertise in food allergies, abdominal pain, constipation, nutrition, gastric reflux and coeliac disease in children and infants. After graduating, Dr Datta obtained higher specialist training in paediatrics from the East of England Deanery in Cambridge. He is now a consultant paediatrician and the clinical director for Children's Services at Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust. He is also the paediatric gastroenterology lead in the trust. In addition, Dr Datta is the designated doctor for child death review at NHS Mid Essex.

Besides his clinical practice, Dr Datta is also involved in academic work. He is a Royal College examiner (MRCPCH) and an undergraduate examiner (MBBS) for Queen Mary University, London. He was formerly a Royal College and undergraduate tutor and he now sits in many interviews and educational progress review panels. Dr Datta has been invited to present at national and international conferences and he has received awards for his work. He has published in several peer-reviewed journals and one of his research publications was released to the press worldwide by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, London (RCPCH) due to its national and international importance.
