Professor Nick Donos is an internationally renowned specialist periodontist, chair of periodontology & implant dentistry and the head of the Clinical Oral Research Center at the Institute of Dentistry, Barts & The London School of Medicine. His areas of expertise include all types of surgical and non-surgical procedures in periodontics and implants including; periodontal disease, implant-related surgical procedures, peri-implantitis and bone tissue regeneration.

Professor Donos is also the head and chair of Periodontology, director of research and program director for the M.Clin.Dent. training program in Periodontology at the UCL- Eastman Dental Institute, London. He was appointed the Chair and Head of the Periodontology in January 2005. In 2015, he was awarded the title of Honorary Professor at UCL-Eastman Dental Institute. 

In 2009 he was awarded the title of Honorary Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry in Hong Kong and in 2012 he was awarded the title of Adjunct Professor at the Dental School, Griffith University, Australia. He was awarded the prestigious IADR-Periodontology Group Award in Periodontal Regenerative Medicine during the annual International Association of Dental Research (IADR) in San Diego and his team also received a commendation certificate during the prestigious Medical Futures event for their (UCLB) patented technology which is based on their research work on synthetic peptide drugs for bone, blood vessels and nerve regeneration.

He has published more than 150 scientific publications in the field of periodontology and implant dentistry and regularly lectures on both a national and international level.
