What is penile curvature?

Curvature of the penis is when the curvature of one's penis is too steep. There are two types of penile curvature: congenital penile curvature and penile trauma. 

What is congenital penile curvature?

It is a condition that some baby boys are born with, and is usually noticed by the parents when the baby's penis is erect. It can affect men in later life.

Unlike Peyronie’s disease, congenital penile curvature doesn't involve scar tissue in the elastic coverings of the erectile chambers. Congenital penile curvature usually involves a downward curve or lateral curve or, in some cases, a combination of both. 

How is congenital penile curvature treated?

Congenital penile curvature, if needed, can be surgically corrected. The two most common procedures to correct this condition are penile plication and a corporoplasty.
