Orthodontic Surgery
Orthodontic surgery encompasses all operations to correct the bad position of the bones and teeth. Currently, advances in orthodontic appliances without surgery can treat many cases of crowding of teeth or poor positioning of the teeth. Therefore, orthodontics aims to contribute to the welfare of the patient, improving the function and aesthetics of their teeth, while reducing the risk of diseases such as caries or periodontitis. The equipment used can be fixed (brackets and bands) and removable, enabling the patient removal from the mouth during oral hygiene and during meals. Today it has a kind of invisible braces, indicated for the correction of the position of the bones and teeth by devices that are not perceptible to the eye. In this technique, fixed devices (brackets) are placed on the inside of the teeth, and so are called lingual orthodontics. Additionally, the invisible orthodontics has developed another technique of a removable transparent ferrules are located on the outside of the teeth and are virtually undetectable to the eye. They are tailor-made and durable plastic material (polycarbonate).
