Mr Francis Usifo is a highly regarded consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist based in Haywards Heath who specialises in laparoscopy (keyhole) surgery. With over 25 years of experience, Mr Usifo is highly skilled in performing a broad range of diagnostic, assessment and treatment procedures for gynaecological conditions, including laparoscopic hysterectomy, advanced hysteroscopy for uterine fibroids, and endometrial ablation for endometriosis and menstrual disorders such as heavy periods.



Mr Usifo, who consults privately at Nuffield Health Haywards Health Hospital, earned his medical degree from the University of Jos in 1997. He went on to undertake higher specialist obstetrics and gynaecology training on the prestigious London Deanery, where he acquired proficiency in the management of complex benign gynaecological conditions, such as cervical pathologies, uterine adhesions and ovarian cysts.



A highly trusted expert, Mr Usifo’s professional trajectory has also been recognised with a number of senior positions, including as a previous honorary consultant at the illustrious endometriosis centre ​the Queen’s Hospital and currently, as a consultant at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust, where he manages a busy gynaecology practice since 2016. Mr Usifo currently serves as the clinical director for obstetrics and gynaecology at both the Princess Royal Hospital and Royal Sussex County Hospital.



Alongside his accomplished practice, Mr Usifo is a highly trained colposcopist accredited by the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology and is also trained in advanced gynaecological and early pregnancy ultrasound scanning. As a senior specialist, Mr Usifo has also been commended with membership to the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists as well as to a number of professional organisations, including The British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy.
