Mr Jonathan Lucas is a distinguished consultant orthopaedic spinal surgeon based in London, renowned for his expertise in treating various spinal injuries and conditions. His areas of expertise include back pain, spinal trauma, paediatric orthopaedics, spinal surgery, metastasis, and degenerative spinal diseases.
Mr Lucas first qualified with an MBBS from St Thomas' Hospital Medical School, University of London, in 1988, before going on to achieve an FRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons in 1992 and an FRCS(Orth&Tr) in 1998. He completed his basic surgical training on the St Bartholomew's Hospital rotation, before going on to complete his specialist training in orthopaedic surgery on the south east Thames orthopaedic rotation. He went on to gain specialist training in spinal surgery as a fellow at The Centre for Spinal Studies and Surgery at the Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham and as a British Orthopaedic Association travelling fellow to the USA, specialising in children's and adult deformity surgery.
He currently practises at various prestigious private clinics in London. He previously served as the Former Chairman of AO SPINE UK and the Lead Clinician for Spinal Surgery at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust from 2007 to 2019.
Beyond his clinical practice, Mr Lucas has made significant contributions to the medical community through research, presentations, and active involvement in professional associations.
