Dr Ravi Kamdar

Dr Ravi Kamdar is a highly accomplished consultant cardiologist based in London, practising at BMI Shirley Oaks Hospital, London Bridge Hospital, Bupa Cromwell Hospital and Guthrie Clinic. He specialises in cardiac devices, arrhythmia and heart failure, with particular expertise in implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), complex pacemaker therapy and the management of abnormal heart rhythms. Recognised for his meticulous approach and patient-centred care, Dr Kamdar ensures his patients are fully informed about their condition, investigations and treatment options, and strongly believes in shared decision-making.

Dr Kamdar trained at leading London centres including King’s College, Royal Brompton, Hammersmith, Guys & St Thomas’s Hospitals, and St Bartholomew’s Hospital. He has been the Clinical Lead of the Arrhythmia Service at Croydon University Hospital since 2013, where he also serves as Lead for Cardiology Clinical Governance. He has consistently been the highest-volume implanter of complex cardiac devices at King’s College and Croydon University Hospitals, performing advanced procedures such as subcutaneous ICDs and His-bundle pacing. At Croydon, he established a new complex cardiac device service, which received recognition and accreditation from NHS England.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Kamdar is actively involved in teaching, training and research. He supervises cardiology trainees and undergraduates, contributes to training programmes for the implantation of simple and complex cardiac devices, and established the Cardiac Devices Research Programme at Croydon University Hospital. Dr Kamdar is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, a Certified Cardiac Devices Specialist (CCDS), and a member of professional bodies including the British Heart Rhythm Society and the British Society for Heart Failure.
