Mr Simon Moyes is a highly in-demand consultant orthopaedic surgeon practising in his private clinics in London. He specialises in arthroscopy in addition to knee, shoulder, ankle, and foot conditions and treatments.
Following his general medical training at The Middlesex Hospital, Mr Moyes subsequently received specialist trauma and orthopaedic training at Westminster Hospital Registrar programme and the Royal National Orthopaedic Senior Registrar Programme. Additionally, Mr Moyes completed fellowships at both North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre and Southern California Orthopaedic Institute in Los Angeles, USA.
In 1994, Mr Moyes was appointed as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at University College London (UCL), where he developed the sports medicine service. However, as of 1998, Mr Moyes has worked full-time solely at his self-founded private practice, Capital Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, where he has performed more than 10,000 operative procedures.
Mr Moyes has surgical special interests in development of new arthroscopic/minimally invasive surgery, always aiming to improve techniques for reconstruction of knee, shoulder, ankle, and foot joints, ensuring better treatment for his patients. In this way, Mr Moyes also works very closely with colleagues of other specialities and maintains working relationships with a variety of sports medicine physicians in central London. This allows the best possible treatment for his patients, a priority of Mr Moyes.
He continues to do research in topics related to arthroscopic surgery, hydrodistension, and bone marrow aspirate stem cell concentrate for the repair of damaged cartilage and tendons. Keeping a close relationship with the Arthroscopic Association of North America in Chicago, Mr Moyes regularly attends medical meetings there and stays involved in the most advanced technology in his field.
