Dr Ahmed Yousseif

Dr Ahmed Yousseif is a leading consultant in diabetes and endocrinology based in London. With a holistic approach to care, Dr Yousseif specialises in the management of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, diabetic foot, thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, polycystic ovary syndrome, and obesity.

Dr Yousseif, who consults privately at The Harley Street Clinic, originally qualified from Alexandria University in 1992. He completed specialist training in diabetes and endocrinology at the prestigious London Deanery, as well as three years of formal clinical research at the renowned Centre for Weight Loss, Metabolic and Endocrine Surgery. This work, which was in the field of obesity and bariatric medicine, led to the award of a PhD from University College London.

With over 30 years’ experience, Dr Yousseif took up an NHS consultant post in 2013 at St Peter’s and Ashford Hospitals, where he also serves as medical lead for the diabetes foot complex multidisciplinary team, medical lead for the Tier 4 bariatric services, and clinical lead for the acute medical service. Dr Yousseif was appointed as a consultant and the clinical lead for diabetes and endocrinology at The Royal London Free Hospital in 2017.

Dr Yousseif is also a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians since 2002 and a member of various professional organisations, including the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists. He is a GMC-recognised trainer and an associate professor at University College London, and has authored a number of publications in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.
