Mr Seni Mylvaganam is a top consultant oncoplastic breast surgeon specialising in breast cancer, breast reconstruction and cosmetic breast surgery. He is based in Solihull, Birmingham and Wolverhampton, providing breast services in both his NHS practice and at his private clinics.
Mr Mylvaganam undertook his training at the Royal Free and University College London and then specialist and sub-specialist training in breast surgery in the West Midlands. He gained expertise in breast oncoplastic and reconstruction surgery and cosmetic breast surgery whilst undertaking the National Oncoplastic Breast Fellowship. This fellowship is extremely competitive, selecting just a few breast and plastic surgeons each year and is hence considered the gold standard for breast reconstruction and breast cosmetic training in the UK.
Mr Mylvaganam also holds a number of leadership roles in numerous organisations. These include the NHS Breast Screening programme as West Midlands Surgical advisor, with responsibility to ensure all breast surgeons adhere to the very best standards. Also as a training programme director for Health Education England, responsible for the quality of training of core trainee surgeons in the West Midlands. He is also committed to improving breast reconstruction surgery, and is currently a leading member of a national research group investigating the practice of implant-based breast reconstruction aiming to improve UK wide patient outcomes and experiences.
Mr Mylvaganam is a driven consultant, dedicating his time to surgery, patient experience and research. He has been invited to speak at more than 25 national and international conferences and has numerous journal and textbook publications to his name.
Beyond the theatre, Mr Mylvaganam enjoys playing competitive tennis and is a childhood supporter of Arsenal Football Club. He is proud to be regarded as a family man with the time spent with his wife and two children being his greatest joy.
