Mr Nicholas Beattie is a leading consultant orthopaedic surgeon and expert in complex hip and knee surgery based in Great Missenden who specialises in minimally invasive muscle-sparing joint replacement with rapid recovery. This includes hip replacement, knee replacement, knee revision surgery, hip revision surgery, partial knee replacement and knee arthroscopy procedures. 

Fellowship-trained in Vancouver, the world's premier joint replacement fellowship, Mr Beattie believes in an empathic patient-centred approach to the return to full activity. Alongside his NHS work at Buckinghamshire Healthcare, Mr Beattie currently sees patients at The Chiltern Hospital and at his private practice.

Mr Beattie qualified from the University of St Andrews and the University of Manchester. He then trained in London, at St George’s Hospital, before going on to complete his specialist orthopaedic training on the prestigious Edinburgh rotation. Following this, Mr Beattie was appointed honorary consultant at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and later relocated to Vancouver, where he accomplished the renowned adult reconstruction fellowship at the University of British Columbia, gaining expertise in primary and revision hip and knee replacements.

Having treated young athletes, Mr Beattie works to return his patients to an active life after surgery, combining minimally invasive techniques, modern implant designs and the latest advanced technologies in joint replacement to achieve utmost, long-lasting functional outcomes. He is on the GMC’s specialist register for trauma and orthopaedic surgery and is also a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons.
