Mr Simon Cudlip is a highly accomplished consultant neurosurgeon and spinal surgeon currently practising in Oxford. With a long and extensive experience in the field of neurosurgery, he specialises in various critical areas, including pituitary tumoursminimally invasive spinal surgery, brain tumours, spinal disc replacement, endoscopic skull base surgery, as well as the treatment of neck pain. He has now performed nearly 2000 pituitary operations, one of the highest numbers in Europe.
 
Mr Cudlip graduated with an MBBS from the University of London in 1990 and earned the prestigious FRCS qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1994. After completing his general surgery training, he commenced a training programme in London based at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, and the Atkinson Morley Hospital, London. Upon finishing his neurosurgical training, he spent a year as a fellow at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, where he served as the pituitary fellow under the guidance of Mr Michael Powell. He also gained valuable experience by undertaking fellowships in Naples, Bologna, and Seattle as a visiting fellow.

Furthermore, his dedication to advancing his knowledge and skills in the field led him to complete an MD from the University of London in 2004.
He currently holds the role of Consultant Neurosurgery at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he plays a pivotal role in patient care and surgical leadership within the institution. He is also an elected member of the Council of the Society of British Neurological Surgeons one of the world’s oldest Neurosurgical societies with over 1000 members

Beyond his clinical work, Mr Cudlip is actively engaged in research and academic activities. He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications and contributed to numerous papers, book chapters, and reviews, primarily focusing on pituitary surgery. He is devoted to educating the next generation of neurosurgeons, serving as an honorary senior lecturer at Oxford University and a surgical tutor to the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
 
He has lectured extensively on pituitary surgery, facilitated international clinical courses, and been an integral part of the Royal College of Physicians' pituitary conference. Additionally, he is a member of the faculty for the Advanced Intracranial Endoscopy course in Tuttlingen, Germany, The advanced expanded endoscopioc skull base course in Bristol, and teaches and lectures in Uzbekistan and India on a regular basis.
