Ureteral reimplantation

Specialty of Paediatric urology

Ureteral reimplantation is a surgical procedure to reattach a ureter (the tube that carries urine from the kidney to the bladder) to the bladder. Some conditions and congenital defects can cause the ureter to be incorrectly connected to the bladder, and urine may travel back up the ureter to the kidney, leading to kidney infections. Ureteral reimplantation surgery connects the ureter in the correct way to the bladder.
