Mr Matthew Izett-Kay is an award-winning consultant gynaecologist and subspecialist urogynaecologist based in Oxford. He has expert knowledge in a wide range of gynaecological and urogynaecological issues and treatments, including vaginal prolapse, bladder problems, incontinence, vaginal hysterectomy and period pain.
 
Mr Izett-Kay's commenced his medical studies at the University of Exeter, graduating with a BM BS in 2010 and was later awarded MRCOG from the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Additionally, he achieved an MD (Res) Doctoral Degree from University College London in 2021, and pursued further specialisation with a urogynaecology subspecialty training at John Radcliffe, Oxford University Hospitals in 2022.
 
In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Mr Izett-Kay actively contributes to research and education. He engages in laparoscopic surgery teaching as a subspecialty trainer, offering mentorship to junior colleagues, and is also involved in the NIHR-funded PURSUE study group at the University of Oxford. His research works have been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and he has authored several book chapters, including topics such as qualitative research, surgical outcomes, and mesh complications.
 
Furthermore, Mr Izett-Kay serves as chair of the International Urogynaecological Association (IUGA) FTECP Committee. He is also a member of multiple of medical organisations, including the British Society of Urogynaecology (BSUG), the International Urogynecological Association (IUGA) and The Medico-Legal Society.
