Mr Kwamena Amonoo-Kuofi is a consultant ENT (Ear, nose and throat) surgeon based in Eastleigh, Southampton. He treats both adults and children, specialising in Paediatric ENT, obstructive sleep apnoea, tonsillitis and adenoid problems, as well as sinus disease and treatments, vertigo and pinnaplasty. He privately practices at Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital and BMI Sarum Road Hospital alongside NHS work for University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.
Mr Amonoo-Kuofi is an experienced clinician, complemented by his MBBS qualification from St George’s Hospital Medical School at the University of London. In 1998, he graduated from the esteemed institution with a distinction in medical neurosciences and completed his specialist training on the Eastern and London Deanery (Guys & St Thomas Hospital) programmes.
Following this, he completed an advanced specialist paediatric fellowship at the Starship Children's Hospital, Auckland, New Zealand. He was appointed as consultant ENT surgeon at University Hospital Southampton in 2014.
Mr Amonoo-Kuofi has, to-date, written various research papers that have been published in peer-reviewed journals. He has a particular interest in research, education and simulation training. His top skills are also used for endoscopic surgery, rhinology and head and neck surgery, plus otology.
He is keen to support the medical profession and was a former fundraising and publicity committee member of the Ghanaian Doctors & Dentists Association-UK (GDDA-UK) from 2006 to 2007. He also speaks and presents at various regional and national events. Most recently, he was a keynote speaker at the UK National Neonatal Transport Group Conference 2019 and has been involved in national simulation courses for trainee surgeons for the past four years.
