Mr Stephen Wood is a leading consultant ENT surgeon based in Berkshire and Maidenhead, with over 30 years of experience. He specialises in paediatric ENT, tonsillectomy, hearing loss, sinusitis, voice disorders, and sleep apnoea. With extensive academic qualifications and professional experience, Mr Wood is dedicated to providing comprehensive care to his patients.
 
Mr Wood obtained his MB ChB from the University of Bristol in 1987, later followed by the FRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1992. He pursued his higher ENT surgical training at the Royal National Throat, Nose, and Ear Hospital in London, as well as on the South West ENT Training Programme.

Notably, he conducted groundbreaking research into the genetics of sinus disease during his tenure as a research fellow at the University of Bristol in 1995, earning him the prestigious national ENT Research Society prize in 1997. He further developed his skills through a Fellowship at the Toronto General Hospital in Canada before assuming his role as a consultant in 2000, subsequently joining Wexham Park Hospital in 2002.
 
Mr Wood's commitment to teaching and research is evident through his various roles. Since 2002, he has served as the specialist tutor for ENT at Wexham Park Hospital, also leading Clinical Governance in his department. He actively contributes to medical education as an instructor for endoscopic sinus surgery trainees at Cambridge and Bristol, as well as a lecturer on laser surgery on a national course held at Wexham Park Hospital. Furthermore, he established the sinus surgery course for trainee surgeons in Bristol, demonstrating his dedication to advancing the field.
