Mr Tom Rourke is a highly regarded consultant ENT surgeon based in Reading renowned for his expertise in skin cancer of the head and neck region and facial plastic surgery. He also has expertise in facial plastic surgery, skin cancer, blocked nose, CSF leak, sleep apnoea and snoring. With over 20 years’ experience, Mr Rourke currently consults privately at The Forbury Clinic.
Mr Rourke, who is a partner and clinical lead at the acclaimed The ENT Consultancy group, originally qualified from the University of Nottingham. He completed his basic surgical training in Nottingham, Norwich and Oxford, and then joined the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, before going on to accomplish six years of higher specialist ENT surgery training on the prestigious Oxford/Thames Valley deanery. During this period, Mr Rourke simultaneously undertook a surgical fellowship in nose, sinus and facial plastic surgery, notably acquiring proficiency in complex nose/sinus conditions and skin cancers of the head and neck. To complement this practice, Mr Rourke later worked at the Churchill Hospital, where he specialised in head and neck cancer surgery.
In addition to his high quality private practice, Mr Rourke is also an NHS consultant at Royal Berkshire Hospital since 2015, where he is the clinical governance lead for the ENT department and educational supervisor for the foundation doctors. As a leading figure in his specialty, Mr Rourke also has an interest in medical education, and was awarded a Masters from the University of Warwick in 2013. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
